The board opened and read four bids for the Saint Joseph County Courthouse 1 Dome and Roof Rehabilitation Project and voted to turn them over to Kiel Architecture and the Department of Procurement for tabulation and a later recommendation.
Eric Stahlheim, director of historic preservation at Kiel Architecture, read bids from Berglund Construction; Ziolkowski Construction; Slay Tile, Sheet Metal and Roofing; and MIM Construction. The amounts were read aloud as they appear in the meeting record; when the audio reflected unclear formatting for some figures staff asked that the bids be formally tabulated by the architecture and procurement teams.
Why it matters: the reroof project is a capital preservation task for a county historic facility. Referring bids for tabulation begins the formal review and selection process.
Next steps: Kiel Architecture and procurement will tabulate the bids and return with a recommendation for award or further action.
