Town attorney Marcel Lavin told commissioners the parcel has long been vacant and that designating it a redevelopment area would allow the Town of North Liberty to assemble financing and incentives to support residential development on the site. Commissioners asked about ownership and whether past contamination affected the parcel; Lavin said any remediated contamination is farther down the railroad corridor and confirmed the town currently owns the site.
A motion to approve APC R‑268‑24 passed by roll call.
