Commissioners approve homestead audit contract, Motorola radio upgrade and several routine contracts; recorder agreement tabled

Kathy Gregorich, settlement specialist in the county auditor’s office, asked commissioners to approve a two‑year homestead review contract with Tax Management Associates Inc. She said the contract would cost the county nothing upfront; the firm’s fees are drawn from recovered taxes after improperly claimed homestead deductions are identified and corrected. Commissioners approved the homestead deduction audit program by motion and voice vote.
Shane Anderson, radio administrator for the PSAP, described Motorola’s offering to provide a flash upgrade to 12 older Apex 6000 radios to make them TDMA‑compliant with the state radio system and extend service life. Commissioners approved the Motorola equipment purchase.
IT director Richard Warfield described a Centrix renewal for AT&T lines that staff say must be renewed to avoid significantly higher costs: he warned that failing to renew could increase pricing "like 4 times". Commissioners approved the Centrix/AT&T renewal.
The recorder’s agreement with Hanson Professional Services was moved to be tabled and the board approved tabling that item. All approval motions recorded Aye votes from Commissioners Hazen and Dieter.
The approvals advance routine administrative and public‑safety operations; follow‑up tasks include coordination between departments for implementation and reporting where required.
