Staff said the intention is to open those proposals at a special meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, with work to award several of the proposals that day and then solicit four or five additional proposals to be opened at the regular November meeting. “We're gonna have to have a special meeting on, October 21st. It's a Monday to open these bids,” a staff member said, requesting commitment from board members to attend an early meeting time. The board agreed to an 8:30 a.m. start on Oct. 21 for the special meeting.
The board authorized the staff to solicit the proposals and approved scheduling the special meeting; members asked for reminders and one agreed to attend. Staff said the bids would be solicited and the board will follow its usual process for award and transparency.
Next steps: staff will issue the requests for proposals, send meeting reminders for Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m., open the bids at the special meeting and return to the board on Nov. 11 for remaining award decisions.
