LINCOLN — The Nebraska Legislature on Day 10 adopted two permanent rule changes aimed at speeding floor business and improving public information.
Senators voted to adopt Rule Change Number 6 (rule 3, section 4), which allows committees to present multiple non–agency-head gubernatorial appointments in a combined report and the Legislature to approve those appointments in one vote. Senators can remove an individual nomination from the combined report for separate consideration if five senators submit a written request. The clerk recorded the adoption of the proposed rule change with 39 yeas and 7 nays.
