LISD employee tells trustees she was harassed and photographed; says she will involve police

At the start of the Sept. 12 public‑comment period, Dr. Sylvia Rios spoke as an employee of Laredo Independent School District and said she has been the target of repeated harassment and intimidation.
Dr. Rios told trustees that an individual identified in her remarks had previously been placed on administrative leave and that, on a recent morning, the person “began taking pictures of my vehicle and my license plates in the parking lot assigned to our staff.” She said security staff were alarmed by the incident and that she would “work with law enforcement as well as my own attorney to cease this incessant harassment, bullying, abuse and what now seems to be a physical threat to me and my family.”
In the public comment she also recounted prior incidents she described as bullying and slander, asked colleagues who have experienced similar conduct to come forward and asked the board to enforce district policies that protect employees. No investigative outcome or board action was announced on the record during the meeting; trustees proceeded with the regular agenda following public comment.
