The committee outlined a curriculum‑renewal schedule: science curriculum renewal will proceed this school year with representation from all grades, special education and buildings, with recommendations due to the committee by March 2025 and any needed resources purchased during summer 2025. World language renewal will also occur during the year.
On technology, the committee reported multiple summer implementations: Chromebook distribution, a new app‑analysis tool, replacement of GoGuardian with a different classroom app for middle and high school teachers, a content‑alert system replacing Gaggle, a new firewall and a facility/event system, and a new walkie‑talkie system. The committee also proposed consolidating board meeting technology and, where appropriate, switching board MacBooks to larger Chromebooks because the MacBooks are at end of life.
The committee also discussed Keystone testing and remediation: committee documents indicated there will be no winter Keystone exams this year; Keystone exams for qualifying courses and retakes will occur in the spring, with after‑school tutoring and boot camps planned to support students who need remediation.
Committee members will return with further details on data reporting, device audits for elementary classrooms, and recommendations tied to those technology and curriculum decisions.
