Commissioner Dave Hensley makes farewell remarks; board signals change of chair

Hensley said he will continue public-affairs work with United Strategies and Consulting and offered three closing points for colleagues: value people, be accountable and find strength in differences. He thanked his family and county staff by name (as read in the transcript) and asked Commissioner Minty to assume the chair. Commissioner Minty accepted and Commissioner-elect Annie Nichols was invited to take her seat.
The board traded brief tributes to Hensley and the meeting adjourned at about 1:46 p.m.
Next steps: the board will proceed under the new chair and incoming commissioner Nichols will assume office according to the county's transition procedures.
