Commissioners approve appointments, bylaws and routine items; recognize long‑service employees

Klamath County commissioners used the Dec. 10 meeting to confirm routine business actions, including appointments, bylaws and liquor licensing recommendations, and to recognize employees for milestone service.
The board approved appointing Bonnie Overcash, Nathan Marquis, Nate Hussey, Don Simpson, Dylan Webb and Sarah Blair to the Klamath County Ambulance Advisory Committee to fill vacancies; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote, with no fiscal impact recorded. The board also approved standardized bylaws for the Ambulance Advisory Committee after committees were asked to reformat their bylaws to county templates.
On licensing, the board recorded for the record a recommendation to the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission that the Tipsy Pig and the Jade Room meet local conditions for new liquor licenses; the county noted this recommendation is advisory and that the OLCC will make the final decision. The county will receive $25 per new license to the Commissioner's General Fund if licenses are issued.
At the start of the meeting the board recognized county employees for years of service: Colleen Currier (District Attorney's office), Anna Garcia (Juvenile), Rosa Salazar (District Attorney's office) for five years each, and Tracy Young (Sheriff's Office) for 10 years of service.
The meeting closed with the chair introducing Ashley Affleck Johnson as the county's new museum director and adjourning at 1:20 p.m.
