County accepts $40,840.61 amendment to ODA grant for grasshopper and Mormon cricket mitigation

Klamath County commissioners approved Dec. 10 an amendment to an Oregon Department of Agriculture grant to increase funding for grasshopper and Mormon cricket mitigation.
County staff reported the county originally received $100,000 from the ODA on May 2, 2024. The ODA has approved an additional award of $40,840.61 (Amendment No. 2, ODA 4523), bringing the county's total award for the mitigation effort to the adjusted amount recorded in the grant files. "We received originally a $100,000 from ODA for grasshopper and harmful cricket mitigation... the ODA met and agreed to our request for an additional $40,840.61," staff said.
The vice chair was authorized to sign the grant amendment; the fiscal impact is $40,840.61 charged to the commissioner's miscellaneous grant fund. The board approved the amendment by voice vote.
