According to a presentation by county staff, Klamath Works previously received an ARPA award; an unexpected change in a separate ARPA contract returned $99,080 to the county. Staff said those funds were commingled with the original award and that the money must be used for housing revitalization projects similar to those Klamath Works is already implementing. "So these extra funds must be used for a housing revitalization project, which is the same type of project Klamath Works is doing," staff said.
Commissioner Minty moved to approve Amendment 1; the motion was seconded and the board approved it by voice vote. The fiscal impact is recorded at $99,080 from the COVID‑19 pandemic grant fund.
The amendment directs that Klamath Works add another project to its existing program so the returned funds are spent on housing revitalization. The board recorded no public comment on the item during the meeting.
