The Klamath County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative personnel actions and one procurement item during its Dec. 3 administrative meeting.
Director Golden asked the board to approve an exception to recruitment policy to reclassify three juvenile group workers to administrative assistant roles retroactive to July 1, 2024, and to grant retroactive pay; staff said the positions were included in the 2024–25 budget and that there would be no fiscal impact. Finance Director Vicky Knoll reminded the board that reclassifications and new position approvals must be completed before the budget hearings, per statute.
The board also approved a temporary out‑of‑class reclassification for a Community Development Department (CDD) office technician to perform permit clerk duties while the permit clerk is on leave, with the temporary pay increase following the local bargaining agreement provisions. In a separate personnel action the board approved hiring a DDA 3 candidate at step 6 with signing and relocation expenses as described in the packet.
Separately, the board authorized a purchase order to Workspace (purchase order #17896) for cubicles, desks, conference room tables and chairs, including delivery and installation, to furnish a new leased DBS location at 565 Century Court. The packet lists the fiscal impact as $134,381.40.
Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the administrative session. Staff said budget authority exists for the personnel changes and the furniture purchase.
