County approves MOUs with two behavioral-health partners to support deflection program under HB 4002

Community Corrections presented two memoranda of understanding that will formalize partnerships to refer people with substance use disorder to treatment under a deflection program implemented following House Bill 4002.
The first MOU is with Lutheran Community Services Northwest; the second is with Klamath Basin Behavioral Health. Director Hartman said the MOUs will facilitate effective referral and treatment under the deflection program and that each MOU would run from the date of signing through Dec. 31, 2025. The board voted to approve both MOUs and authorized the director to sign on behalf of the county. No fiscal impact was reported during the Nov. 26 meeting.
Commissioners thanked staff for taking on the duties associated with implementation after passage of the state bill.
