Tax collector Rick Vaughn told the board the county collected $1,419,578.62 in transient room tax receipts for the third quarter ending Sept. 30, 2024, and recommended the county execute the order to distribute funds according to Klamath County Code 603.610.
"This quarter ... is the largest quarter of the year," Vaughn said, while noting a 1.5% year-over-year decrease. Chair Dave Hensley moved to approve and execute the order so the tax administrator could distribute funds per the county's revenue-sharing formula. The motion was seconded and approved with affirmative votes.
Vaughn said distributions will follow the tax revenue-sharing formula and that funds will be allocated to participants as required by county code; no further changes were discussed at the meeting.
