Board approves consent items, MOU with equity consortium, budget opt-out and construction management contract

The board approved an MOU with the Mid Atlantic Equity Consortium, Inc., for grant-funded contractor services (Nov. 8, 2024'May 30, 2025). Superintendent Dr. Mary Jo Yannickone said the MOU carries minimal district cost because MAEC is the recipient of federal grant funds for this type of assessment.
The board also approved an accelerated budget opt-out resolution certifying the tax rate with an Act 1 index of 4% for fiscal year 2025-26, a procedural action the district said will allow more time to prepare next year's budget. The board approved adoption of the 2025-26 operating budget for the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology at $12,540,989, with a capital assessment of $1,025,000; Springfield Township's share of the secondary contribution is $797,613 and its capital assessment share is $102,563.
Finally, the board approved an agreement with CHA Consulting Inc. to provide construction management services for phase 3 of the Springfield Township High School roof replacement in the amount of $117,000 (based on rates in an approved retainer agreement).
