Milton fixes qualifying fees for Nov. 4, 2025 municipal election

The Milton City Council on Jan. 22 adopted a resolution establishing candidate qualifying fees for the Nov. 4, 2025 nonpartisan municipal election.
The city clerk explained that state election code requires the governing body to set qualifying fees before Feb. 1 and that the fee equals 3% of the prior year's gross salary for a salaried office. "The mayor qualifying fee will be $894, and the council member seat fee for qualifying will be $594," the clerk said. The clerk also said notice ads will run twice in the Milton Herald to comply with the publication requirement.
Council approved the resolution by unanimous vote. The fees apply to filing for mayor and three council seats scheduled for the upcoming election.
