Holly Arnold was elected president of the Tunkhannock Area School District board during the reorganization portion of the Dec. 7 meeting after a nomination, a second and a roll-call vote. Phil Farr was elected vice president in a separate roll-call vote, and Arnold assumed the chair.
The board also reviewed a proposed calendar of meeting dates for 2025 and approved the schedule. Administrators noted two deviations from the typical third-Thursday pattern: April was moved because of the Easter break and October conflicts with a local bonfire event. Board members agreed to adopt the dates and asked administration to circulate the final calendar.
Committee assignments were deferred until the January meeting; the incoming president said she would accept requests for changes and make official appointments then. The reorganization meeting adjourned and the board opened its regular business meeting.
