York County approves community-based aid grant application to fund diversion coordinator shared with Polk County

The York County Board of Commissioners approved submission of a community-based aid (CB) grant application Dec. 10 to continue funding a diversion coordinator position and associated youth services shared with Polk County.

The board moved to approve the application and voted by roll call to authorize submission.
What the county approved The board authorized the county to submit the CB grant application to fund the diversion coordinator position for the July 1–June 30 program year. Perry said the application is routine and the county has participated for several years.
Next steps Perry said the EB application for additional funds will be prepared and submitted by Jan. 3 and an evaluation from UNO/Crime Commission is expected around April. County staff said they will circulate materials to commissioners earlier in the packet cycle going forward.
