Louisa County on Monday administered oaths of office to newly seated officials and handled routine organizational business.
Scott Hunt and Kevin Hartman each took the oath to serve as county supervisors in Louisa County, reciting: "Do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the state of Iowa, and I will faithfully and impartially to the best of my ability discharge all the duties of the office of county supervisor in Louisa County as now or hereafter required by law." Each was congratulated by colleagues after signing the oath form.
A person identified only as Brandon took the oath for the office of county sheriff, pledging to "support constitution of United States and constitution of the state of Iowa" and to "faithfully and partially to the best of my ability ... discharge all duties of the office of county sheriff." Susan Snelller (name as presented in the meeting transcript) was sworn in as county auditor, repeating the oath language appropriate to that office.
Before the swearing-in, the board approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from its Dec. 17 meeting after voice votes of 'Aye.' The gathering included brief departmental updates and a facilities report that are recorded separately.
The oaths were administered during the organizational portion of the meeting; officials signed the paperwork and exchanged congratulations before the session continued with routine business.
