La Porte City Council approved its consent agenda on Nov. 11, authorizing routine purchases, contracts and financial items.
Key items approved included authorization to purchase Neptune meters and parts not to exceed the budgeted amount of $649,233; a construction contract for a replacement playground at Fairmont Park for a total authorization of $400,000 (including contingency); selection of WellPoint for stop-loss insurance coverage at $1,101,738; a Datavox procurement for hardware, software and technical support at $239,332.93; and a 19-month agreement for the City of La Porte to provide emergency medical services to the City of Shore Acres at a total monthly rate of $15,826.66 beginning Feb. 1, 2025.
The council also approved the fiscal year 2024 audit and asset-forfeiture report as required by Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and a number of other routine items. A motion to accept the consent agenda was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
