The Community Consolidated School District 62 board voted Jan. 21 to approve a resolution endorsing Vision 2030, a coalition-supported education blueprint that calls for future-focused learning, shared accountability and predictable funding for K–12 public education in Illinois.
Dr. Amadegh introduced the resolution and played a 1:32 excerpt from the Vision 2030 website that outlined three priorities: future-focused learning (career exposure and postsecondary readiness), shared accountability (measuring growth and proficiency over time) and predictable funding tied to the evidence-based funding model. The resolution asks the governor and General Assembly to take action by 2030, and staff requested the board grant President Burton permission to sign the district's resolution of support.
A board member moved to approve the resolution, and the board approved it by roll-call vote. Staff said the video, the resolution language and supporting materials would be made available on the district website once the board gave its support.
Board discussion was procedural and focused on asking staff to post the materials and ensure the board understood the resolution language before final publication.
