Commissioners set early‑voting locations, hours and call Nov. 5 general election

Caldwell County Commissioners Court on Aug. 13 adopted resolutions setting early‑voting locations and hours and formally called the Nov. 5, 2024 general election.
Judge read Resolution 24‑2024 — citing provisions of the Texas Election Code — after the elections administrator (Davonte) told the court both party chairs agreed to the proposed dates and locations. Commissioner Horne moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Thomas seconded; the court voted to approve the measure.
The court also adopted Order 11‑2024, which sets the Nov. 5 general election date, lists offices to appear on the ballot (including sheriff, tax assessor‑collector, treasurer, precinct commissioners and constables), and specifies early‑voting times and branch polling locations at the Scott Annex (Lockhart) and Luling Civic Center, among others. During the reading Davonte noted a Spanish‑language branch‑voting entry that incorrectly listed Saturday hours; the court corrected the Spanish materials to show Saturday branch‑voting hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. before adopting the order.
The court scheduled a public hearing on the FY2025 tax rate for its Aug. 27 session.
