Court approves consent items, proclamations and routine permits; reschedules June meeting

The court approved short-form and final plats, including "Happy Chick Meadows" (three lots on ~11.751 acres) and Tumbleweed Estates Phase 3 (31 lots on ~40.95 acres). A mass-gathering permit for a community reunion on June 28'29 was granted after staff confirmed the application met review requirements.
Administrative approvals included adoption of a Courthouse Grounds Use Policy to standardize event approvals, authorization to enroll in the Texas Association of Counties Health & Employee Benefits Pool and the Healthy County incentive program for FY2024'2025, payment of $2,742 to the Capital Area Council of Governments air-quality program for FY2025, and approval to issue RFQ24CCP01Q for a courthouse master-plan solicitation.
The court voted to keep the burn ban off based on recent and forecasted rainfall and rescheduled the June 25 Commissioners Court meeting to Friday, June 28, 2024, at 9 a.m. The court also discussed but did not act on increasing the Child Welfare Board size; staff will reach out to current members for reappointment interest and solicit new candidates if the court decides to expand the board.
Next steps: staff will file adopted policies and resolutions with the county clerk where appropriate and proceed with RFQ solicitations and grant submissions as approved at the meeting.
