Staff said roughly 130 county employees currently participate in payroll‑deducted dental coverage and that moving to the higher limit plan would increase the higher‑plan premium to $40.32 per month for employees who select it; one staffer noted the MassMutual proposal was roughly $11 more per month than the current lower plan for employees who might move up.
Commissioners discussed plan choice and employee premium impact before the court approved moving forward with MassMutual's high‑limit plan by voice vote. Staff will implement the coverage change and notify affected employees of premium and plan options.
