Bay District Schools swears in superintendent and two board members

Mark McQueen took the oath of office and addressed the Bay District Schools community at the board’s organizational meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19, thanking family, district staff and union members and saying he looks forward to the next four years.
The investiture was led by Judge Shane Vann, who administered the oath for McQueen. Two school board members—identified in the meeting as Mister Chester and Mister Register—were also sworn in during the ceremony. McQueen thanked his family and district colleagues and said he was “humbled and honored to serve” and looked forward to efforts to “elevate education, Bay District Schools.”
The board opened the public meeting with the investiture before moving to the day’s organizational business. Attendees were invited to a reception immediately after the meeting.
The ceremony included customary oaths and short remarks from the newly sworn officials; family members and community leaders joined portions of the event.
