An unidentified board member moved to approve the purchase and installation of an oven and proofer from Cisco for $63,809 to expand on‑site bread and roll production; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Doctor Nielsen told the board the equipment will help the district prepare breads and rolls on site and noted the elementary currently serves about 560 meals per day.
The board also approved an industrial refrigerator for the middle‑school Family and Consumer Sciences classroom for $6,861.45 and a 12‑inch radial arm saw for the high‑school woodshop for $6,330. District staff said Perkins (federal CTE) funding will cover the refrigerator and the saw, and that the saw update will help keep shop safety standards current.
Each purchase was moved, seconded and passed on voice votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
What’s next: Facilities and nutrition staff will schedule installations and document Perkins funding use in program reports.
