The Plaistow Planning Board agreed on Oct. 3, 2024 to continue PB 24‑09, an application from Strategic Real Estate Management LLC for a truck park‑and‑ride at 4545 Westville Road, to the board's Nov. 20, 2024 meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The chair read a statement for the record that the applicant had requested a continuance, voluntarily waived the 65‑day completeness clock for an additional 60 days (making the new expiration date Dec. 25, 2024), and agreed to re‑notify all abutters at the applicant's cost. The continuance was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote, with at least one board member registering opposition to the motion during the discussion.
Board members discussed the interaction between the Zoning Board of Adjustment review and the planning board's jurisdiction, noting the applicant is also pursuing variances before the ZBA and may return to the planning board depending on that outcome. The chair and members emphasized the importance of re‑noticing abutters so the public is aware of the new hearing date.
Next steps: the applicant must re‑notify abutters at its expense; the matter will return to the planning board on Nov. 20, 2024 unless resolved by the ZBA beforehand.
