CEE advances voter-roll cleanup and approves temporary registration centers; GMT and PRIT agreements in process

SAN JUAN — The Commission Estatal de Elecciones updated the House Committee on Electoral Affairs on July 18 about voter-roll maintenance, the use of new tools and expanded temporary registration centers.
Padilla said the commission endorsed contracting a private company, GMT (Geomapping Technology), to help normalize addresses and accelerate precinct/unit assignments; committee members requested GMT's contract and company details be submitted within five days. Padilla confirmed the initials "GMT" stand for Geomapping Technology.
On purging deceased voters from the rolls, Padilla said negotiations with PRIT (appearing in the record as Prix/PRIT) had led to a digitally signed agreement received by the commission; the physically signed original had not yet been delivered for final signature and application. The CEE said the deal is intended to speed exclusion of deceased records and will accelerate reconciliation with demographic registries.
The commission told the committee it approved opening 25 temporary registration sites in addition to 12 permanent regional sites; yesterday the full commission approved four additional temporary sites (for a list of municipalities the president recited), bringing the total temporary registration centers to 29.
Padilla said the CEE would provide the PRIT/Prix agreement and GMT contract to the committee and update the number of pending deceased records after the next reconciliation.
