Scott also outlined Hancock Academy, a nonprofit warehousing and vocational effort intended to provide regional storage and vocational projects — a chain of nonprofit warehouses from Boston to Bangor — so reclaimed materials can be inventoried, accessed by designers and architects, and used for training and grant generation. He said remaining sales would create grant funds for student projects and future programs.
Panelists echoed the need for standard waste‑management tracking on job sites so volumes diverted and reused can be measured in real time; Scott suggested internal waste management plans could be used industry‑wide to track recycling and diversion.
