The Greenland Board of Selectmen approved several formal actions on Oct. 7, including appointments, a contract and routine financial manifests.
Appointments and representatives - The board moved to appoint Dennis Mulally as the town’s second representative to the Rockingham Planning Commission; the town’s other representative is Bob Dion. A member recused themself during that vote.
Agreements and contracts - The board authorized the town administrator to sign a memorandum of understanding extending welfare services handled by the City of Portsmouth from Sept. 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027. - The board approved a Bell & Flynn quote for combined paving with Stratham for Greenland’s portion (tonnage) in the amount of $12,252.50; staff said the shared work avoids separate mobilization charges because crews will already be on site.
Financial approvals - The accounts payable manifest was approved in the amount of $976,633.99. - The payroll manifest was approved in the amount of $92,149.30.
Public process and next steps The board took no new policy votes beyond these approvals and moved into a nonpublic session later in the evening under the statutory citation read aloud during the meeting. Staff will execute the Bell & Flynn contract and return updates on the Portsmouth MOU and planning commission representation as needed.
Why it matters: these routine votes implement near‑term work (road repairs and welfare administration), allocate town funds and confirm citizen representation on a regional planning body. The Bell & Flynn contract will allow short‑term paving to proceed where Stratham’s crews are already operating.
