Bolivar proclaims October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month; recognizes city employee

The mayor invited 'Harry,' a recent hire who assists with city custodial work, to be recognized and presented him with a hat and coin. A representative of MHDS thanked the council for supporting National Disability Employment Awareness Month and efforts to promote employment opportunities.
The mayor also invited residents and business owners to a luncheon sponsored with MHDS on Oct. 22 to raise awareness and continue outreach efforts.
What’s next: the city will continue outreach and partner activities to recruit and retain workers with disabilities.
