The presentation described the project area as primarily Northeast Street (north of the Will Rogers area), portions of Cherokee and sections of the Westwood subdivision. Staff noted the city has a five-year pavement-maintenance plan that prioritizes streets by condition and traffic volume.
Council members asked whether the contractor had performed work for the city previously; staff said the bidders had performed work on prior projects without issue. The contract includes concrete panel replacements when needed and fixes to the road substrate in problem areas. The motion to award the contract was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
Staff said the city's pavement-maintenance spending over recent years (including this packaged project) totals several million dollars; the council approved the recommendation to proceed.
