Morristown council introduces two ordinances and adopts seven resolutions

At its Sept. 24 meeting the Morristown Town Council introduced two ordinances (police regulations and a traffic/handicap parking change) set for public hearing Oct. 8, approved the consent agenda, and adopted resolutions R-152 through R-158, 2024; motions passed by affirmative roll call.
The Morristown Town Council on Sept. 24 introduced two ordinances for future public hearings, approved consent items, added three tax-settlement resolutions to the agenda and then adopted seven resolutions before adjourning.
The council introduced Ordinance O-24-2024, an amendment to the town code, chapter 3 (police regulations), and Ordinance O-25-2024, an amendment to chapter 7 (traffic) to change the placard number assigned to a dedicated handicap parking space on Columbus Street. Both ordinances were introduced by title, motions were made and seconded, and roll-call votes carried; both are scheduled for public hearing on Oct. 8, 2024.
The clerk stated there were four items on the consent agenda, including approval of the Sept. 11, 2024 minutes; the council moved and approved the consent agenda by roll call. Earlier in the meeting, following an executive session, the council voted to add three tax-settlement resolutions (R-152, R-153 and R-154, 2024) to the regular agenda for consideration.
Later in the meeting the council moved to adopt resolutions R-152 through R-158, 2024 (R-152–R-154 had been added earlier; R-155–R-158 were on the published agenda). The clerk called the roll and the resolutions were adopted by affirmative votes of members present.
No ordinances were adopted at the meeting; public hearings for O-24-2024 and O-25-2024 are set for Oct. 8. With no unfinished or new business, the council moved to adjourn.
