Volunteer coach asks Morristown to extend park lighting so adult and youth evening basketball can continue

At the July 9 public-hearing portion of the Morristown council meeting, Andre Khaldiv Harris of Manahan Village thanked council and staff for recent changes to a one-way barrier near Clyde Podge Drive and described six years of running open-run basketball sessions at Caldwell playground for ages 18–40. He asked the council and administration to allow extended lighting at the park on weeknights (suggested until 10 p.m.) and later on Fridays (suggested until 11 p.m.) so games can continue safely after dark during summer heat. Harris praised the new recreation director, Samantha G., and noted the community benefits of organized play.
