He said the extendable arm and hydraulic attachments reduce the need to move equipment frequently, limit damage to lawns and permit a deeper reach without staged excavation.
Trustees asked about dimensions, nighttime lighting and safety features; Duroy said the new machine has a cab, LEDs and standard safety equipment (seat belts, roll bars, alarms), and that additional lighting could be installed if operational needs require it.
Trustees voted to approve the purchase as presented. The purchase will be charged to the water-line maintenance budget; the transcript records a unanimous voice vote to carry the motion.
