Del City proclaims Hispanic Heritage Month and announces 2nd annual Family Fiesta

Mayor Floyd Eason read and signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2024, as Hispanic Heritage Month for Del City, highlighting the culture, history and contributions of Hispanic Americans.
City staff announced the 2nd annual Del City Family Fiesta will take place Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Raytrinch Park. Staff said the city partnered with the Del City Chamber and the Oklahoma Hispanic Institute and planned cultural dancers, music, food and other activities. Development staff (Kyle Gandy) thanked the council and said more information would be released as the event approaches.
The council encouraged public attendance; council members praised last year’s event and noted participation by councilmember Scott Tatum. Staff will provide follow-up event details and logistics for council and public dissemination.
