At the Aug. 19 meeting, Del City council approved a multi-item consent docket including minutes, fiscal-year budget amendments and multiple blanket purchase orders for building, streets/drainage, fleet and other divisions (items a–e and the extended list on the DCMSA docket). Councilman (speaker 7) moved to approve the consent docket and the motion passed by recorded roll-call "aye" votes from Councilman Finch, Councilman Dean, Councilman Brown, Councilman Tatum and the Mayor.
Two $100 donations in memory of Steve Robinson — from Gary Robinson and from Sharon Mangels — were each approved by unanimous council vote to be placed in the Del City Police Department general fund for the chief's discretion.
The council also confirmed two appointments to the Civil Service Commission: Dr. Kevin Hill (term through Aug. 19, 2028) and Samantha Mitchell (term through Aug. 19, 2028). Both appointments were approved by unanimous recorded vote.
On a separate agenda item, the council approved a limited hunting season for non-migratory geese at Eagle Lake, closing the lake to other activities from Sept. 7–16, 2024, and instructing staff to post signage and close gates where appropriate. The record shows Councilman Tatum voted "No" on that motion; the remaining members voted "Aye," and the motion carried.
