Residents raise customer-service and event parking concerns during Del City public comment

During public comment at the July 1 Del City meeting, resident Chris Clack said he called city staff to ask for a specific ordinance and was told, in his words, that he could 'go look it up' in a flippant manner; the city manager said he would investigate the interaction. Clack asked that city employees operate with greater courtesy given Del City's proximity to the military base.
Ron McCall, another resident, praised Destiny Christian Academys parade and fireworks display and noted heavy parking along 29th Street and a lack of lighting; he and a councilmember suggested the city consider additional lighting or a stop sign near the event area to improve safety.
During the Municipal Services Authority session, sanitation staff explained the Bolt bulk-trash program will not collect 'unacceptable waste' (hazardous materials, tires); crews will attempt contact twice and make a final trip, but if unacceptable waste remains the service order will be closed and the item could be referred to code enforcement. Staff said they will post the unacceptable-waste list online and work to provide disposal options, including exploring a tire disposal agreement with neighboring Midwest City.
