Chickasha council approves sponsorship policy, routine contracts and emergency basement repairs; multiple pay requests cleared

The council also approved a pay request for T-hangar construction at the municipal airport (Pay Request No. 4 to Diversified Construction of Oklahoma, Inc., $242,155) and awarded a fiscal-year accounting services contract with Crawford & Associates.
Equipment and reimbursements: The council authorized purchases of multiple 2024 Ram trucks under state contract SW0035 for municipal operations and approved interlocal reimbursements to Grady County District 2 for several paving projects.
Easements and opioid funds: The council accepted a temporary easement and approved a permanent easement in exchange for $25,100 from David and Shaniqua Ritchie for a waterline project. Council also authorized an agreement to accept settlement funds from the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board to be spent on opioid remediation.
Emergency repairs: Citing repeated flooding and mold concerns in the city hall basement, the council declared a true emergency under the city charter and waived competitive bidding to authorize emergency work by Groundworks for $82,299.80 to install interior drains, additional sump pumps, wall sealing and dehumidifiers.
