She noted that teams of Northeastern co-op students were embedded across state agencies and presented AI tool solutions the administration plans to implement to improve agency functions and service delivery.
Provost David Madigan, who opened the program, framed Northeastern’s decade-plus focus on AI — including a strategic plan launched in 2015 and related research — as a resource for state innovation. Madigan also highlighted ongoing research at the university and acknowledged students who have served as AI co-ops with state government.
Healey discussed the task force’s structure and activity, saying it includes multiple working groups and hundreds of participants and that the group would meet on site after the presentations to move into a final phase of work.
