Planning staff reports demolitions and site work; board urged to await revised Oak Street plans

Staff said there have been no recent approved developments to report but described active site work: the former Walmart structure has been demolished and site resurfacing is underway; the 7 Brew building has been demolished and site work is in progress; Grover's masonry work is nearly complete; and the Tranquility apartment complex contractor delivered landscaping updates today.
Board members asked about a courthouse settlement and whether any county activity had advanced; planning staff said they had nothing to report and would follow up. On the Oak Street application, staff said the applicant is redesigning exterior and interior elements and that updated plans have not yet been received. Members discussed that a fire-marshal determination about required exits affects allowable use and occupancy, and agreed to wait for the applicant’s revised plans instead of taking action at this meeting.
No formal approvals or votes were taken on development items during this meeting; staff offered to report back with any updated drawings or courthouse information.
