ROME — The City of Rome Board of Investment and Contracts met Jan. 9 and approved 18 resolutions that authorized city funding for local nonprofits, contract changes with engineering and consulting firms, and the sale of city property.
The board approved funding and agreements that include a $1,600 agreement for the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency Inc. to support a runaway and homeless youth program; $31,680 for the Senior Citizens Council of Rome; $10,880 for the South Rome Senior Citizen Center; and $322,932 for the Jervis Public Library Association. The board also approved a $14,000 contract with the Humane Society of Rome and a $31,616 agreement with the Rome Historical Society.
The board approved operational and capital contracting actions, including change order No. 1 to La Veil Associates, DPC, for $215,435; a contract with Greenman Peterson Inc. not to exceed $454,400; and change order No. 3 to CDM Smith for $444,000. Other approvals included agreements with two volunteer fire departments, a cost-sharing agreement with Necenia Health Inc., and a parking-lot use agreement with the First Presbyterian Church for employee parking at the justice building.
Among property actions, the board authorized the sale of a city-owned paper alley between Oakwood Street and Jefferson Street and separately approved the sale of a city-owned parcel on Kingsley Avenue for $1,001.
All 18 resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the record in the transcript shows members responding "aye" and the chair announcing each resolution "carried." The transcript does not include roll-call vote tallies or the names of individual motion makers beyond generic motions and seconds.
