Soda Springs — The City Council authorized the mayor to sign a sidewalk grant application to LTAC for $250,000, supplemented by roughly $55,000 carried over from a prior cycle, to continue sidewalk construction along 4 South from 1st East to 3rd East.
Staff (Alan) outlined the grant amount and timeline: engineering must be completed and documents submitted to LTAC by Dec. 20; if approved, funds would be available next spring. Council moved and seconded a motion authorizing the mayor’s signature on the grant application and approved it by voice vote.
Alan described the intended scope — continuing sidewalk work to build on completed sections — and emphasized the combined funding would yield slightly more than $300,000 to advance the project. Staff said that, upon award, standard engineering, conduit and curb/gutter sequencing will be coordinated with ongoing Main Street work.
