Sanford City Council on Dec. 17 approved the sale of a vacant, surplus lot at 615 Magnolia Street to Hector Ramirez following an upset-bid procedure. Staff reported the offer of $17,224.51 was advertised Nov. 21, 2024; no higher bids were received within the statutory period. The purchaser agreed to pay advertising and closing costs.
Staff noted the property is not designated redevelopment land and that $8,554.51 of the sale proceeds will be remitted to Lee County for taxes and foreclosure expenses. The council moved, seconded and approved the sale by voice vote.
The presentation was made by staff identifying Attorney Patterson as the representing attorney; staff did not provide further details on intended future use by the buyer. Closing and transfer will proceed per the upset-bid sale process.
