The Marysville City Council approved a 3% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for city employees, proposed by City Administrator Josh and set to take effect Jan. 5 to simplify payroll processing.

Josh told the council he is "suggesting that it'd be effective January 5th" to avoid splitting payroll periods and to align with prior COLA considerations used in the budget process. A motion to approve the 3% increase was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.

Councilors asked whether the 3% figure matched Social Security guidance and staff confirmed it was consistent with the figures considered during budget processing.
