Grants and donations: Council authorized the city manager to apply for a $200,000 Ohio EPA recycling and litter grant to supply recycling bins for 2–4 unit dwellings and separately authorized an application for up to $5,000,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling grant program to replace aging single-family recycling bins. Council also accepted a $446,511.22 donation from the Cincinnati Parks Foundation to support parks operating and capital projects and approved a $1,000 donation from the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati for fire department team-building activities.
Budget and transfers: The council passed an emergency ordinance to transfer $150,000 for community engagement on Price’s Landing Park, to be repaid in the upcoming budget. It also approved smaller internal transfers and emergency suspensions of rules where noted.
Development actions: Council authorized a community reinvestment area tax-exemption agreement and a funding and development agreement for Grammar's Place in Over-the-Rhine. Sponsors noted the project will preserve a historic bar and add about 116 residential units; council discussion highlighted over $13 million in developer equity and the use of an Over-the-Rhine East TIF payment to make the project feasible.
Other items: Council approved a landslide mitigation CIP tied to a federal grant, a water service agreement with the village of Cleves, and unanimously advanced a zoning amendment allowing childcare and retail at a Madison Road site.
