At its Oct. 17 meeting the Lincoln City Council voted to approve two related local business requests: the transfer of DJ’s on/off-sale liquor and restaurant licenses back to the property owners and acceptance of a lease that would allow a gaming operator, "Furry Friends," to operate at the site.
Elizabeth Fleming, speaking for the property owners, said the state had approved many of the license prerequisites and that the ownership transfer and the gaming lease still require completion of state health and fire inspections and submission to the attorney-general’s office. "We’ve gotten all the state licenses...we actually even have our license for 2025," Fleming said.
The council moved and approved both the liquor-license transfer and the lease acceptance by voice vote. Council members asked staff to assist applicants with any remaining paperwork and to notify the council if additional local requirements appear.
Because state-level inspections and attorney-general steps remain, the council’s approval allows the local administrative steps to proceed but does not substitute for required state approvals.
