Altamonte Springs honors 10-year city employees and Lyman High School centennial

Names read in the presentation include Amanda Phillips (administrative director), David Harbour (co compliance inspector), Jesse Weed (fire marshal), Eddie Fabian (senior meter reader), Johan Hendriks (facility planning and construction manager), Nida (recreation division manager), Robert Glaude (West Altamont operations), Raymundo Burgos (park ranger), Carlos Rivera (10-year honoree recognized with the chief), Calvin Cason (assistant water distribution supervisor), Daniel Buckland (public works and utility development manager) and Diana Lopez (strategic program manager). The mayor and commission offered thanks and invited honorees to pose for photographs.
Lyman High School: The commission also marked Lyman High School’s 100th anniversary, recounting its founding (cornerstone laid in August 1924, opened September 1924), later renaming to Lyman High School in 1963, and integration milestones through the 1960s. The commission recognized Cammy Weaver as Lyman High School’s teacher of the year; Courtney Doherty, assistant principal, and Weaver were introduced and thanked for their attendance.
The recognitions drew remarks of appreciation from commissioners and staff and were followed by the meeting’s regular business.
