Board approves Lincoln Junior High Phase 3 interior remodel under budget

The Bentonville School District Board on Dec. 17 approved Phase 3 of an interior remodel at Lincoln Junior High School, approving scope, budget and a target schedule.
District staff described Phase 3 as an interior renovation including the media center, a flexible classroom and a special‑education classroom, plus replacement of worn ceiling tiles in foyer areas and installation of an emergency generator to power portions of the campus. The design firm for the project was identified as Hyde Jackson and Flintco was named as construction manager. The project was included on the district’s 10‑year plan.
Staff told the board the project’s budgeted amount was $1.4 million in the 10‑year plan and that, after the bidding process, the proposal came in under budget at about $1.375 million. Pending board approval, staff said construction would start in May 2025 with completion expected before the fall semester.
A motion to approve the improvements was moved and seconded and carried by roll‑call vote. No formal amendments to the project scope were recorded at the meeting.
