Lakeland School reports: new assistant principal, transportation coordination and upcoming events

Transportation coordination was described as a large undertaking because each district partner uses different vendors and communication protocols; the principal said Nora has been engaging with bus drivers and contractors to improve arrival and dismissal consistency.
Staff also reported partnership activities: Fire Prevention Week programming with the Elkhorn Area Fire Department (including video modeling to prepare students), a Smart Snacks and Healthy Highlights program to align school offerings with Department of Public Instruction guidance, and upcoming events including an early dismissal day with Imagine Your Capacity training and a Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 11.
The board set its next meeting for Nov. 20, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. and adjourned.
